I often get the question of "why?"
We don't seem to value our personal history as actual history. It would seem crazy to throw out a letter dated 1776 but if that same letter were dated 1996, it would easily be tossed. While we can't hoard everything without being showcased on reality TV, we can at least document the items that have been passed to us from a previous generation. Our words and images may not have historical meaning yet, but the future hasn't been written either.

Steve Dexter’s childhood fascination with moving images developed into documenting his own life by his mid teens. Exposure to a large family collection of historical letters, films, and photographs had a lasting influence on the young man. The technical problems encountered with these hobbies during the analog-digital transition laid the path for his career early on.
Largely self-taught, he has learned to see obstacles as an opportunity for elegance.
"A secret to solving problems well is to look at what you have to work with, look at what you need to accomplish, then look back at what you already have even closer; a fastened screw also has a screw hole around it with the same dimensions."
In recent years, he has applied this philosophy to skills from his visual effects degree combined with his collection of orphaned home movies.
